2006 RECENT P.A.L. RACE
We Striked gold again! Jay won 1st place overall (boys & girls) and took home 1st place in the junior 10-12 catagory. He stayed in the top pack the whole ride and on the third lap turned on an awsome strike up to 30 mph and no one could answer his call. He had to complete 3 laps of the course and rode like the champion that he is.
Laurence Jupp rode exceptionally well, some of the coaches from other frequent teams at these events, noticed the extra power and strength that Jupp rode with and acknowledged it by saying this time was the best they had ever seen him ride in these parts, and so it was. Like Jay he stayed in the top pack, maintained his cool, and led the pack on two different laps, striking here and there. He made the joke that he did not go for the sprint on the preme lap because they were racing for a book and not for money and he did not want to exhaust himself and jeopadized the win. He had to complete 8 laps of the same course and though he came in third, he road like a first class champion and we are proud of him, more so because it is his first time medalling internationally. Great Job! Just wish you guys were here to have feel the excitment and the thrill. The race was a part of the Lance Armstrong races (LAJORS) and because of Laurence's 3rd place finish, it qualifies him for the Florida Regional Camp 2007. The top finishers in the 15/16, 17/18 & 19/22 age catagories will qualify for Regional Camps in 2007. The top riders from each Regional Camp will be invited to Junior and Espoir National Development Camp.
There were only 3 races for these camps in Florida , this was the last one and the 1st one that Team JAR has entered. These results only prove the strength, power and knowledge of our very young team. We emphasize again, we are simply "just so proud".
